5 Ways to Clean Your House Like a Professional
1. Clearing the Clutter Before the Clean-Up
The first step in cleaning is to remove everything from the beds, side tables, study tables, bathroom shelves, kitchen counter top, and table tops.
2. Begin cleaning from the ceiling
Cleaning your ceilings first is a good idea because dust that falls from them will settle on the walls.
3. Carry on with Walls
After you’ve cleaned the ceiling, it’s time to clean the wall surface. Pull furniture toward the center of the room if possible so you can clean behind it.
You can clean the walls with a lint-free cloth in low areas and a soft broom with a rag over its bristles or, better yet, a dust mop in high areas. If there are no stains on your walls, simply dusting them may suffice.
4. Dust the Fixtures and Furniture
We’ve all got that one piece of wooden furniture that holds a special place in our hearts.
- Use soap and water to clean
Typically, a damp washcloth and mild dish soap are all that is required to clean your furniture. - After cleaning, polish the furniture
Polishing can restore the shine and protect the surface. - Dust all of your furniture
Dust your furniture with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth or brush.
5. Clean the Floor
Sweep the hard floors, vacuum the carpets, wipe down the baseboards, vacuum the steps and stairs, and clean the mats and rugs.
